Inkjet Printers - An Overview

An inkjet printer functions with the help of magnetized plates placed in the ink’s path’s allowing it to spread the ionized ink directly on the paper in the desired shape.  With these printers one can produce the highest quality prints similar to laser printers.  A standard inkjet printer can provide resolution of 300 dots per inch but the latest models produce more.  More dots produce higher quality prints.

When talking about price the inkjet printer is definitely cheaper than the laser printer though its working is not as fast as the laser printer.  The disadvantage of an inkjet printer is that it should use special ink or the print may smudge before drying when inexpensive copy paper is used, causing damage to the document. Inkjet printers are mostly portable since they require smaller parts in its manufacturing process.

The various types of inkjet printers include Kodak, Samsung, Dell, HP, Canon, Sony, Epson, Olympus and many such brands that offer high quality inkjet printers at low and affordable costs.  The best and well known HP brand is extremely outstanding and has manufactured not only quality but also cheap inkjet printers, professional photo printers and wide format inkjet printers to suit the various needs of their consumers.

With the HP inkjet printer one can print important office documents, graphics and small photos for commercial use.  The wide format inkjet printer serves the purpose of printing big posters, advertising boards, etc using material like acrylic, hardboard, wood, glass and any tough material that is required for the purpose of advertising.

With the professional photo printer photo studio professionals can print excellent small photos and even huge posters and photos meant for advertising.  It has a printing resolution of 4800x2400 dpi that can print a single document within 55 seconds to one minute.  It is the best printer for professionals who are well known and are always busy printing for their valued customers.

Inkjet cartridges form the main component in the printer.  Without a cartridge the printer cannot print.  For smaller portable inkjet printers there are two cartridges one with black and the other with colored ink that can be used according to one’s choice, best suited for homes and offices.  But for commercial and professional business the five tank cartridge is the best, especially for wireless printers that require ink wherever they are.

No doubt the inkjet printers are not as fast as the laser printers but they still have their high quality and standard features that are useful for small offices depending on the usage and consumption requirements.  The ink used for these printers is ionized and hence it is special.  For use with the wide format printers apart from ink from the five tanks varnish coating is applied along with the prints for long lasting pictures that have to battle against different weather conditions.  The varnish thus applied over the photo in posters and banners will not only give the picture long lasting life but it will also add a gloss that will increase the clarity and style of the picture.

Inkjet printers are very useful and any home with a digital camera, laptop or a personal computer should have a printer to suit their needs, for instance homes with studying children.  There is always a need to take many pictures for their project files or working members who would like to have an urgent document as a hard copy.
